The Volunteer Nitrate Monitoring Network (VNMN) has been an active program in Southeast Minnesota since 2006.
Fillmore SWCD has been a partner with VNMN since the beginning of the program in 2006, and the following counties also participate in the network:
Dodge, Goodhue, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Rice, Wabasha, and Winona.
This program works to monitor nitrate levels in private wells, and therefore regional aquifers, on a yearly basis, at no cost to the landowner volunteers.
This program and partnership would not be possible without the assistance of our nearly 400 program-wide local landowner volunteers.
If you have any questions regarding the program, results, or are interested in becoming a VNMN participant,
please contact Nikki Wheeler at 507-887-0240, or nikki.wheeler@fillmoreswcd.org.
